Senior Accountant

PART TIME

3-5 years practical accounting experience with undergraduate accounting degree

Artechouse is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to assist in preparing month end close, balance sheet account reconciliations and overseeing the general ledger accounting daily operations for our Accounting Department. This position can be based in NYC or Washington, DC. This is a part-time position of approximately 15-20 hours per week and can be 100% remote.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to booking, reconciling and reporting financial activity. 

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries including fixed assets, payroll, reserve adjustments, prepaids and deposits 

  • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness. 

  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities. 

  • Ensure all financial closing and reporting deadlines that have been assigned are met. 

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close. 

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations. 

  • Assist in annual budget preparation and re-projections throughout the year. 

  • Maintain organized, accurate and complete accounting records, electronically and hardcopies, as necessary. 

 

CORE QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with month end close and journal entry process 

  • Strong analytical/planning skills, together with a strong accounting/control background

  • Advanced knowledge of excel (formulas & macros)

  • Being able to put together and take apart vast amounts of data from different sources

  • Ability to create ad hoc reports and analysis

Digital Marketing Specialist

FULL TIME

We are seeking a proactive Digital Marketing Specialist with an eye for design and strong copywriting skills to join our Digital Team. In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of ARTECHOUSE’s digital communication and community development across social media, website, newsletter and business listings. You are the first point of contact most people will have with ARTECHOUSE and will dive deep into the ARTECHOUSE universe online. You will create frequent, meaningful stories and engagements that grow reach and affinity for ARTECHOUSE around the intersection of art, science and technology.

You excel as a quick, quality copywriter, content curator and creative director. You have an affinity for digital art and innovation, are customer-focused and obsessed with all things online. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Day-to-Day Social Media Management: Facebook (1 per location), Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube (and more as applicable)

    • Maintain social media calendar in line with business priorities and tentpole moments such as new exhibit openings

    • Write unique caption copy for each platform

    • Produce unique media (image/video) for each platform, whether curating assets that already exist, editing existing assets in new ways, providing direction on new assets to create or creating assets yourself (e.g. capturing content at one of our locations)

    • Engage with messages, comments and customer service inquiries in a timely manner

    • Produce unique experiences and campaigns for each platform e.g. oversee ARTECHOUR Live series execution, giveaways, etc...

    • Liaise across departments to integrate their work into social execution e.g. repurposing press hits for social content, location operation updates, cross-promotion of local partners, etc…as well as ensure brand consistency

    • Develop influencer relationships and execute influencer campaigns

    • Weekly analysis, reporting and recommendations

    • Stay up to date on the latest platforms, features and tools for enhancing our presence and make recommendations

  • Business Listing Management: TripAdvisor, Yelp, Google Business (and others)

    • Maintain a cohesive presence across listings

    • Ensure listings are up to date with the latest assets, exhibit information and operational updates

    • Where applicable, post updates

    • Engage with comments and customer service inquiries in a timely manner

    • Weekly analysis, reporting and recommendations

    • Stay up to date on the latest features and tools for enhancing our presence and make recommendations

  • Website Management

    • Maintain a cohesive website presence including but not limited to updates for new exhibits, updates for operational changes, landing page creation for project launches, blog writing and publishing.

    • Support transition to a new website and ensure all content is carried over and SEO-optimized. 

    • Support SEO efforts by writing at least one weekly post, laying it out with media assets and publishing. Additionally, produce and publish posts that others write.

    • Weekly analysis, reporting and recommendations

    • Stay up to date on the latest platforms, features and tools for enhancing our presence and make recommendations

  • Newsletter Management

    • Produce and send bi-weekly newsletters to each location

    • Produce and send monthly newsletter

    • Produce and send campaign-specific newsletters

    • Weekly analysis, reporting and recommendations

    • Stay up to date on the latest platforms, features and tools for enhancing our presence and make recommendations

  • Paid Media: Support paid media plans by executing ad buys across search and social, pulling analytics and providing recommendations. 

  • Additional projects as assigned

 

CORE QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital marketing, journalism, advertising or other related fields

  • Background or willingness to dive in and learn about art and tech

  • Expert knowledge of and passion for digital channels, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Wordpress, blogging, and any other relevant platforms

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator and video editing softwares

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Marketing experience

  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including nights and weekends

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and prioritize

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with others

  • Agency working experience a plus

  • Knowledge and/or passion of digital art and culture worlds preferred

  • Travel to different domestic locations as needed

Visitor Experience Representative

FULL TIME / PART TIME

Previous experience in a visitor services role or in a hospitality position a plus

We are seeking a dynamic individual to be part of the Visitor Experience (VE) team that is the public face of ARTECHOUSE. VE Representatives act as the ambassadors of ARTECHOUSE and are responsible for ensuring positive visitor experience as well as the safety of the art and technology.

 

Principal Responsibilities

• Act as ARTECHOUSE ambassador to the general public through positive and timely customer service for all of our visitors both in person and over email.

• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure positive visitor experience.

• Welcome visitors and deliver an introduction talk to position their experience.

• Ensure the safety of the artwork and other guests by being a vigilant presence on the gallery floor.

• Maintain a well-informed, working knowledge on the topic of the featured artist(s), installations on view and the digital medium overall.

• Perform opening, closing and mid-shift duties to ensure a clean and ready space for the visitors.

• Utilize ticketing software in order to assist guests with ticket purchases, check-in and other ticketing needs

• Proactively engage with visitors to assist with their experience

• Manage crowd control and visitor traffic flow with the ability to anticipate opportunities to assist visitors and allow for as smooth an operation as possible

• Educate people about ARTECHOUSE’s mission and current installation

• Embody and exemplify the values of ARTECHOUSE in every interaction with visitors

 

Core Competencies

• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills

• Flexibility and positivity in dealing with new experiences and people

• Comfortable with speaking to small groups of people

• Experience with, or ability to learn, ticketing and office software

• Ability to spend shifts walking/standing/moving about in public spaces

Requirements

• Working towards, or completion of a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
