Be A Part Of SUBMERGE Project 2025

Are you an artist working in the digital medium and pushing the boundaries of art+tech creativity? Are you ready to take the next step and move from your computer screen to an immersive exhibition space? If so, you’re in the right place. Keep reading.

SUBMERGE Project transforms ARTECHOUSE NYC — the iconic 100-year-old boiler room of Chelsea Market — into a launchpad for today’s most compelling creators. SUBMERGE is a year-long showcase that will feature an evolving artist rotation every four months and invite creators from across the globe to participate through a year-long open call for submissions. Over the course of 2025, dozens of artists will present bold works that transport their POV out of the confines of computer screens and into ARTECHOUSE’s state-of-the-art 270-degree, 18K-resolution immersive digital canvas for the ultimate close-up, in-person experience.

Building on ARTECHOUSE’s mission and decade-long legacy of empowering artists like Refik Anadol, Julius Horsthuis, fuse*, Zach Lieberman, Vince Fraser, and many others, the SUBMERGE Project serves as a launchpad for today’s most compelling creators. ARTECHOUSE NYC is a must-see innovative arts destination that is committed to entertaining the public and scaling the work of the next generation of digital artists.

As a result, for the first time ever, ARTECHOUSE is hosting an open call to digital media artists, inviting creatives around the world to submit their work for consideration for inclusion in this ever-evolving group show and discovery platform. SUBMERGE connects talent with the tools, expertise, and stage they need to grow and take the next step in their career.

Artists accepted to SUBMERGE will gain access to the following:

  • Mentorship & Curatorial Support

Submission Criteria:

  • Digital Media Only: SUBMERGE is dedicated to highlighting work that is/can be digitally produced – The show will be a curated group exhibit utilizing our seamless wall-to-floor immersive digital canvas. We’re asking each artist to submit one piece of content that best encapsulates their artistic vision in this unique space.
  • No Age Limit: Creativity has no boundaries, and neither do we. Artists of all ages are welcome.
  • Diversity Matters: We value and celebrate diversity in all its forms and career levels. Our goal is to showcase a wide range of perspectives from across the creative world.
  • Open to Worldwide Talent: Artists from all corners of the globe are encouraged to apply. Our inaugural cohort will highlight the incredible work of international creators.
  • Professional Experience: Whether you’re an emerging artist, mid-career, or established, we want to see your work. However, preference will be given to artists whose work has yet to be shown in a permanent gallery space, particularly in the United States.

Review Process:

Our goal is for each SUBMERGE evolution to showcase how the genre of immersive digital art can stretch and evolve.

With that directive in mind, all submissions will be reviewed by our ARTECHOUSE Studio team as well as our Advisory Board, ensuring that curatorially, SUBMERGE is always evolving and pushing the boundaries of the discipline.
