ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

TWILIGHT ZONE

march, 2025

At ARTECHOUSE, we’ve explored our brains and gone to the edges of our universe, now we venture into the mysterious bioluminescent realm of the ocean twilight zone.

Join us for the world premiere of a new collaboration with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Twilight Zone: Hidden Wonders of the Ocean.

This artistic expression of scientific discovery plunges you into the mysterious depths of the ocean twilight zone to discover the enchanting world of bioluminescence and showcases the interconnectedness of marine life.

Twilight Zone: Hidden Wonders of the Ocean highlights the awe-inspiring nightly migration of ocean twilight zone creatures and their intricate connections to the planet’s health, including helping regulate the earth’s climate.  This groundbreaking exhibition offers a 24-minute cinematic journey enveloping the audience in immersive 270-degree projections that span from floor to wall, complemented by six interactive installations and six XR activations. Together, they create a rich exploration of the mysterious underwater world through a fusion of artistic and interactive expressions.

Using sound, texture, shape, and imaginative elements to evoke emotions and a sense of wonder, we appreciate science as our superpower and bring the beauty and mystery of the ocean into focus. Twilight Zone: Hidden Wonders of the Ocean features innovative design and original compositions by Mehmet Ünal (Tilde Sound Art), highlighting the importance of sustainable interaction with our natural world.
