SUBMERGE into the World of Immersive Digital Art

A new platform for discovering digital art —a place where the most exciting digital artists of today are unveiled, celebrated, and connected with you in an unparalleled format. SUBMERGE Project does for digital art what MTV did for music videos and Hollywood did for movies: it redefines how we experience immersive art today, and helps shape the democratization of its future.

Launching January 2025, SUBMERGE Project transforms ARTECHOUSE NYC — the iconic 100-year-old boiler room of Chelsea Market — into a vibrant hub for digital creativity innovators. This dynamic, year-long showcase will feature evolving artist rotations every four months, and invite creators from across the globe to participate through a year-long open call for submissions. Over the course of 2025, dozens of creatives will present bold works that transport their POV out of confines of computer screens and into ARTECHOUSE’s state-of-the-art 270-degree, 18K-resolution immersive digital canvas for the ultimate close-up, in-person experience.

Building on ARTECHOUSE’s mission and decade-long legacy of empowering artists like Refik Anadol, Julius Horsthuis, fuse*, Zach Lieberman, Vince Fraser, and many others, SUBMERGE Project serves as a launchpad for today’s most compelling creators. From AI-driven narratives to 3D-animated dreamscapes and music-inspired visual worlds, we invite you to connect with the creators shaping today’s art landscape.

What is SUBMERGE?

SUBMERGE is more than an exhibition —it’s an ever-evolving living laboratory and digital culture playground. It’s where the next generation of creative innovators and multimedia storytellers are empowered with the tools, mentorship, and stage to bring their visions to life and connect with the audience.

SUBMERGE isn’t just about showcasing immersive digital art; it’s about defining it. By empowering creators from diverse backgrounds to experiment boldly and collaborate across media, we aim to establish new sub-genres in the immersive medium—each distinct, impactful, and resonant. Just as movies, plays, musicals, and operas evolved into their own forms, immersive digital art now stands on the brink of a similar evolution, poised to expand the very definition of storytelling.

Why SUBMERGE?

The future of immersive digital art lies not in the tools we use but in how we push the boundaries of storytelling and audience engagement. While the next decade will undoubtedly see advancements in hardware—improved pixel density, image quality, and scalability—true innovation will come from redefining how we conceive, craft, and share content.

It is the stories we tell and the experiences we create that will shape the future of art and entertainment. With SUBMERGE, we set out to explore this frontier, curating a vibrant roster of multidisciplinary artists to redefine genres and set new benchmarks for computer-generated large-scale immersive art experiences.
