Explore our summer immersive room, Oracle

We’re excited to debut out latest immersive room installation: Oracle by Miami-based artist Francesco Lo Castro.

Oracle is a collaboration between Francesco Lo Castro and Ricardo Agudello, ARTECHOUSE Production and Technology Manager. The piece explores the underlying nodes and networks that permeate our natural world. Painting, sculptural elements, digital animations and a soundscape composed by the artist make up an immersive environment that guides the viewer through a soothing exploration of alien patterns and soft structures, revealing a work of art not unlike a prophecy from beyond.

“I never tire of experimenting with new media, and love seeing my work translated into different formats,” notes Lo Castro. “It often yields unexpected results that tend to push the work to new levels. My intention is to always leave room for happy accidents. It keeps me learning and exploring new avenues.”

His work examines the underlying nodes that make up physical reality through the use of historical visual elements reminiscent of Italian Futurism, 1980s analog computer graphics, post-restoration Art Deco color palettes, op art, and finish fetish. Lo Castro’s work has been exhibited internationally and featured in numerous publications, including Miami Contemporary Artists, released by Schiffer Publishing in 2007, and 100+ Degrees In The Shade: A Survey of South Florida Art, released by [NAME] publications in 2015.

The Immersive Room at ARTECHOUSE / Miami is a platform for both emerging and established artists to explore and present experimental artistic concepts alongside the ongoing exhibitions. The multi-sensory installations from guest artists rotate quarterly.

The debut of Oracle marks the first time that a Miami-based artist’s work has been featured at ARTECHOUSE / Miami since its debut in December 2018.

“As we bring art and tech experience to new communities, it is our goal to inspire and empower the creation of new innovative art. We are thrilled to team up with Francesco Lo Castro for our first local artist installation at ARTECHOUSE / Miami,” says Sandro, Co-Founder and Art Director of ARTECHOUSE.

Also on view at ARTECHOUSE / Miami is its popular inaugural exhibition XYZT: Abstract Landscapes by internationally-acclaimed French artist group Adrien M & Claire B. The world-travelled exhibition features 10 interactive light installations triggered by movement and gestures, allowing guests to play with light in a landscape of lines, points, and letters as they explore vibrant and fleeting virtual environment.

Make sure to visit Oracle on your next visit to ARTECHOUSE Miami — it’s now on view daily through September 2, 2019.
